ITIL and Exam

ITIL® and Exam

To learn about ITIL® and exam tools and applications you have to apply for the ITIL® examinations that are held at global level. All the examinations are held under the accreditation of EXIN and ISEB. Apart from these standard institutions, ITIL® Examination Agency, North America organizes EXIN’S paper-based ITIL® exams in the United States. Moreover, it also provides independent proctoring and administrative services.

There are three main courses for ITIL® exams that the Art of Service organizes. We also help our candidates prepare for the final exams through a series of mock exams. The main exams are:

ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management: This is considered to be the most important ITIL® exam certificate for IT service management as it introduces you to the concepts and applications of Service Management.

Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Management: This ITIL® Exam will take your studies to a higher level where application of ITIL® processes are discussed in detail.

Manager’s Certificate in IT Service Management: This is highly professional ITIL® exam which is especially designed for professionals in Service Management.

ITIL and CMM

ITIL® and CMM

ITIL® and CMM are two separate frameworks functioning in the IT industry. Both of them are equally relevant and it has been determined that a blend of both the frameworks give profitable results to the organization.

CMM is a framework created to guide the software developers in particular through the task of creating IT base solutions that are directed according to your business requirements. ITIL® framework is confined to Service Management in IT industry. ITIL® and CMM frameworks are complementary to each other and there will not be any clash or duplication if both of them are implemented.

The CMM measurement model is a 5 category measurement model and ITIL® is also a 5 level model (after details there are actually 9 levels in ITIL®). The similar structure sometimes creates complexities in the mapping exercise.

ITIL and BS15000

ITIL® and BS15000

ITIL® and BS 15000 form the standard of IT service management. Many organizations have adopted BS15000 in their strategy. ITIL® and BS 15000 are neither interchangeable nor can you select only one exclusively for IT service management because they assist each other in providing better services in an organization. BS15000 sets a standard for service management that must be adopted for improved practices.

BS15000 was adopted as per the British standards, but now the IT service management is embodied under the ISO20000 standard. The new standard is the international equivalent of BS15000. The standards mainly define an organization’s requirements to deliver IT managed services.

We at Art of service are dedicated to ITIL® service, management training and consultancy globally. As per your organization’s requirements we provide you with suitable ITIL® toolkit and services.

ITIL Adoption

ITIL® Adoption

Apart from the availability of ITIL® application one issue that is even more significant is ‘ITIL® adoption’. ITIL® will prove no use for the company if it is not adopted with perfection.

A great amount of research is required before you actually decide on the implementation and application. For this you have to find the ITIL® best practices from the market. It means that you have to look for the companies that have nature of work and structure of organization similar to your company.

ITIL® adoption will be possible after an import of practices take place. With the help of ITIL® service managers (configuration and planning) you have to determine whether the practices will be useful for your organization or not. Correction in the processes has to be done properly. ITIL® adoption is not very easy as it may fail at any point of time but once it goes with the flow of your company, there is nothing else than benefits.
